The location, by the River Lay which is more like a lake at this point, is beautiful. Dining on the terrace was special and the food was excellent. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool. Our room at the back was small and simple but suited us fine. Plenty of parking room. Hotel was easy to find. Not far from Le Puy du Fou.
It was convenient to where we were working nothing more. The owners appear to try hard but the bedrooms while clean and comfortable are very old-fashioned.A Lot of their clients are brought to them as groups travelling together as the hotel is the only one in the immediate area, has a lot of rooms and is relatively cheap.
The cooking is woeful; so bad it is hard to believe. There is no alternative as the hotel is quite isolated and located far from any town. As we had a car we drove many kilometers to be able to eat elsewhere. Pity as they have a captive audience and their own restaurant is the one aspect that gives them a chance to provide a memorable experience; instead it is memorable for the wrong reason. They focus on reducing their cost of each meal rather than on what the client receives and tastes. They clearly don't care about the impact. We stayed there because it was relatively close to our conference centre; I would never go back there.
bad bad bad very dated, old fashioned tiny rooms, rubbish facilities i paid €65 for a night no breakfast this was about €64 to much. would never go there again in the middle of no where.
Location. This is one of the most beautiful locations that I have ever stayed in.
Very pleasant location, overlooking a lake. Very peaceful spot. Rooms were clean and very warm (we were there in February).
No mention was made on any site that the restaurant is closed on Sundays in the "low" season! This was very disappointing as it meant having to drive into Chantonnay to find somewhere to eat. Also, the breakfast was poor - coffee was lukewarm, the "orange juice" was like watered-down lemon barley water. We politely mentioned the orange juice and the waitress said she didn't like it either! No apologies, though. Also a lot of noise at the moment as they are having a lift installed - though we appreciate that this will be for the benefit of the hotel and its guests.
Friendly place, quite basic rooms but good value for money and wifi!
food exelent also quiet and friendly staff
no tea or coffee facility in room , an english thing !!!!
We booked to stay at Hotel Moulin Neuf on my iPhone on the same day of our arrival there. A one night stopover before heading to our destination further south. Check-in was fast, friendly and informative. The room decor was dated but clean, the same was the case for the bathroom. Both however were comfortable and functional, also had a balcony with a great view. We ate at the restaurant (on the terrace in fact), good fooenhzfkd in an overly rich 70's style, friendly staff. Great indoor pool! For us however, what would bring us back was the location by the river, a stunning spot, and a welcome surprise given we were just enhzfkseeking a stopover. You need a car for this one as there's nothing else nearby.
Relatively high supplement for our 2 and a half year old daughter (12 euros). Breakfast was over-priced. A coach load of senior citizens arrived on the evening of our arrival and stayed the night, many on our floor. It was incredibly noisy.
The beds and rooms were clean and felt it. very pleased on that count. Staff were happy to help.
Too old fashioned in decour and facilities. eg Bathroom more like a home rather than hotel, no cofee making in the room, no air con. noise of other guests.
Clean and comfortable and in the perfect location for my business trip
Unfriendly and unhelpfulstaff.
The location is fantastic, but the hotel is very dated, however despite that we would stay again. The food is not bad and the staff are very helpfull.
